[Despite being new to the dream world, Jensen looks the least bit confused about what was going on. Instead, he was looking rather fascinated as the continues tinkering with the Dreamberry in his hands. It looks like he is talking in the video is on but no sound could be heard from the device. Jensen is seen fiddling with it a moment longer before ( Read more... )

[All that talk makes Rikku laugh if anything.]

You're into machines then too, huh?

[Daaamn. He may have jokingly said that he had a pants-busting crush on Aisha but this one definitely takes the cake.]

Well, no. It's not just machines I'm into.

[Poor Rikku. So innocent.]

Oh? What else are you into then?

[And she's still talking to him! That's a good sign.]

Software. I like to knowing and figuring out how things work.

[Oh hey, looks like a fellow techy has dragged him out of his funk for the time being. Enough to reply, at least \o/]

Haha, isn't it? Wait until you look into the actual network. Not that I've gotten very far, but it's like nothing I've ever seen before!

[Right, he better tell this guy what's going on before he goes off on a OMG CODE rant.]

I guess you're new, huh? These are Dreamberries - you're right, they're really similar except they can also record and broadcast dreams. This is Somarium - a dream world or something like that. It's kind of strange because there's probably one of you here and another one of you back home because apparently it's like you've never left home when you come here...

[Any questions so far?]

[Nice! Another person who appreciates this kind of precision work!]

I took a look at it before checking out what else this baby could do. I've seen something that reminds me of it, but it was really usually kept under wraps to most people. Couldn't even get near that thing without leaping through hoops.

[He actually lets out a laugh after hearing the name.]

Dreamberry? Seriously? Okay, A+ for craftsmanship but a huge whopping F for originality. But whoa, back up for just a second. I knew this thing could do other things but record dreams? How that even possible?

And you're telling me that this really is another world?

Hmm, maybe you'll be able to get further in then I could, then!

Hey, I'm not the one who named the things! I'm not sure, actually... something about Dream Energy and all that but that's not really my field of expertise... I don't think anyone who was brought here knows, and if anyone does know, they're not exactly telling us!

That's the only explanation, at least.

I'll probably give it another look if I get the chance.

Whoa, can't say I've ever dealt with whatever this thing is "Dream Energy" kind of thing.

[There's a pause, finally pulling the breaks on his nerdgasm with the Dreamberry. There were much more pressing matters to attend to for now.]

This world then, Somarium, is there some kind of way out? [To think he was just getting used to being off the job again and now he finds himself in a completely different mess.]

Whoever who built it also had a weird-ass sense of humour. It broadcasts dreams during the energy conversion stage.

But you're right. That isn't any reason to marvel at it. The thing's a technological wonder.

[Well, he's surprised to see another girl who's into this sort of thing. But he's quick to reply anyway.]

That's what I've been told. I'm planning to give it a look when I've pretty much gotten the gist of things here.

If what everyone's saying is true, then I've got to agree with you. I've never seen anything this before.

[And... she's surprised to see another person interested in this sort of thing, period. While she doesn't believe in friendship, another researcher in Somarium would certainly be useful.]

Feel free to take it apart. You won't find the energy source, but everything else is fair game. It'll rebuild itself within twenty-four hours, give or take, depending on the condition you leave it in.

And that implies that your world isn't technologically advanced enough for this sort of thing to be possible, huh. But it's not too surprising. It's pretty much the trend within the population here.

[Hey, he hasn't done any serious nerd talk in a while considering the rest of the team usually asked him to dumb things down for them.]

That's another thing on my agenda. Someone even suggested to submerge the thing. I just know that will be hours of fun.

People have tried, yeah. But I doubt anyone's come close to actually achieving something even remotely close to this.
