An epiphany, after a fashion.

 (I need a userpic that projects thoughtfulness as opposed to spazzery.  Just a sudden thought I decided to share with you all, because why not when I share pretty much everything else already.)

Was driving home from class tonight, jamming out to Lupe Fiasco (because I'm sooooo ghetto, lol), when a lightbulb went off in my head:

HEA, being about Saitou, does help define who he was 'back then' and gives a good progression of how he got from 'then' to 'now'. Because what happened to Saitou during his Department days, couldn't help but mold him into the man he is at the beginning of CM.

I also think that what you wrote for some of the others in HEA does start to define who they were 'back then'. Their personalities are revealed, to a degree, by the way each of them reacts to Saitou and the situations described in HEA.

Anyway, the above impressions are what passed through my mind after reading your post, and then rereading HEA.
