I GAVE UP AFTER HE MADE HOT COCOA BY POURING THE UNSWEETENED COCOA INTO THE MILK, DID NOT STIR IT, MICROWAVED IT, PUT IN 3 COFFEE BEANS (UNGROUND) AS WELL AS A TABLESPOON OF DOUBLE VANILLA EXTRACT.

I WISH YOU SO MUCH LUCK AND NO FIRES.

Oh, this is...with Steve not understanding, but gathering up all the pieces and parts of Danny. I kind of see him having a special lock-box that's for Danny, for his anger and his laughter and his stupid hair and everything that goes with him, and sorting through the pieces later to try and make sense out of them all, you know?

They're so messed up, these boys, and yet they fit together perfectly.

damnit, now i have more in my head based off that image which i got from your fic.

With Steve going through the lockbox, and seeing glimpses of someone else he doesn't recognize, and it's just an arm here, a t-shirt here, an oddly familiar tattoo there, and it's not until he's almost emptied the box and laid out the pictures that he realizes that he's in there too, he's a part of Danny, and how *that* happened he doesn't know, but seeing it, in the way Danny settles when Steve touches him, or the way he hands over his keys, makes something uncurl in the pit of Steve's stomach.

He doesn't understand Danny and he doesn't know how to put the pieces together or if they even fit, or if Danny is just a pile of jagged-edged pieces stacked on top of each other in a leaning pile and occasionally erupting and sending pieces flying everywhere. And he doesn't really know how he fits into it at all, but Danny thinks he does, and maybe that's enough.

Duuude, younger siblings. They're all the same. The month before I go home, my sister's all, "Hey, can you show me how to make that pasta thing that you make? I love that shit."

I was all, "Fuck yes. Please let me teach you how to cook, so I no longer have to do all the cooking the whole two weeks I'm back."

But once I get there, I'm like, "Hey, I'm making dinner. Come watch me so you know how to do it."

My sister just flaps her hand and is all like "But...but...I'm watching Merlin. Teach me tomorrow."

And then later on my brother will get home and be all like, "Duuude, I am so baked right now. Can you make me that omelette thingy you make with the bacon and the onions with a fuckload of cheese?"

What the hell. Why am I the only one that knows how to cook when you guys have been living on your own for at least a year now? WHAT DO YOU EAT WHEN I'M NOT HOME?
