Ahahaha! I bought an iPhone. Now, those of you who have spoken to me on this topic know that I have long resisted doing so, largely because I think the people at AT&T are asshats. But today my Verizon phone died and the people there were BIGGER asshats, and I figured to hell with it. If I'm going to have to deal with asshats anyway, might as well ( Read more... )

Was that the movie one? When he apparently had no idea that he once announced that he Googles himself? (Also, the one where Susan told him he can't have Twitter?) He must have something, though; print interviews with him (the ones I've since sworn off reading) always make reference to him having...a Blackberry, maybe? I forget, now.

And, dude, Tony Stark probably thinks of iPhones the way we think of rotary phones. Cute and quaint and absolutely useless.

Welcome to the dark side? Light side? Hmmm, don't know what side, except that life is SOOOOOOO much better with an iPhone.

I will say this...I've had Cellular One/AT&T/Cingular/AT&T as my mobile provider since 1996, and I've never, ever had a billing issue.

Service is good - despite what people like to say - and ironically, the most times that I get dropped calls are when I'm talking with Verizon users. Go figure.

If you want app recommendations, let me know.

Oh my god I am SO IN LOVE WITH THIS THING

And the service, compared to Verizon, has been awesome so far. Then again, Verizon would just RANDOMLY DECIDE MY SERVICE DID NOT EXIST, so it's not like I have much of a basis for comparison.

It changed my life. I LOVE IT SO.

The headphones are also a HEADSET. And you can pause/play music by clicking on the microphone bit.

I bought myself free of the contract, since my provider cut me such a sweet deal. The funny thing is, I was told on three separate occasions (when I inquired about the phone and buying it free, when I placed an order on the phone - they don't really shelve them in Finland, or didn't, six months ago - and when I actually went to pay for it) that buying it free of the contract would cost me about 140 euros. Not exactly cheap, but cheaper than paying Sonera (the provider & only chain that sells them here) ridiculous fees for their service. So yeah. They told me, when I bought it, that I needed to open a contract with Sonera, and call their customer service the next day ( ... )

DUDE! It sounds like you had a seriously shitty time with that. I'm so sorry! My luck's been good so far...but I've had it six hours, so, lol.

I agree that the lack of multitask is ridiculous, but I love EVERYTHING else about it, so I'm not too worried. Here's hoping the new OS does well by you!

Don't mean to threadjack - but I don't find the camera particularly shitty.

It took this picture and this one, too.

The camera isn't great in low light, but it doesn't suck one bit.

I know it takes decent photos if there's enough light. But at least for me it only works with bright lighting, meaning that it starts failing even in normal household lighting if it's slightly on the dimmer side. That's not "a good camera". Unless one's definition of a good camera is "takes decent photos if the lighting is correct".

My friend has N97 and my Mum has N900, both have cameras that a) have flashes and b) take good pictures even if the lighting isn't halogen/spot -brightness.
