Ahahaha! I bought an iPhone. Now, those of you who have spoken to me on this topic know that I have long resisted doing so, largely because I think the people at AT&T are asshats. But today my Verizon phone died and the people there were BIGGER asshats, and I figured to hell with it. If I'm going to have to deal with asshats anyway, might as well

So I called them. Was told that they'd send the bill and close the account I had with them. I asked them if they knew how much the bill would be, but they said they couldn't access that info. Two weeks pass, no bill. I call them, and find out it was going to be sent in Novemember, *two months* from the date I bought the iPhone. Remember, I couldn't use the phone before it was unlocked!
So the guy said he'd pre-date the bill, yay. Then I asked what the precise amount would be, saying "I was told it would be around 140 euros?" The guy went silent and went, "140? It's about 350 euros..."
Yeaaaah. I kinda flipped my shit at that point. The guy advised me to send them a complaint. BTW they don't have an email for that. Needs to be sent by snail mail -_-
So I Wrote Words, at length, with curse words. Got a call back about a week later and got told they'd let me buy my phone loose with the original price I was promised.
What a fucking hassle.
Bleh. Anyway. I'm not 100% happy with the iPhone, but Dad said I could choose between the N900 (Nokia) and this one, and the iPhone was prettier :::D I hate the fact that it doesn't multitask, which is unbelievable on a phone this hyped and this overpriced. The camera is crap, you can't pick a song on your iPod and just set it as a ringtone, the text messages only show time stamps if they're sent far apart, you can't block a number, you can't customise the look...
Well. Fortunately there'll be an operation system upgrade in the Summer, which will fix most of those things, excluding the shitty camera, but the camera isn't *that* big of a deal to me. It's just that I can't believe that a phone that's supposed to be so high caliber has such a shitty camera...
And yeah, even if they're fixing the multitask thing now, I still can't believe they were so short-sighted that it wasn't included originally O_o
Still. There's something about the device that pleases me, even though generally speaking I kinda hate Apple. So far it's worked without any glitches, I like the design, and the apps are very versatile. Can't wait for the OS upgrade, then it'll be near perfect.

I agree that the lack of multitask is ridiculous, but I love EVERYTHING else about it, so I'm not too worried. Here's hoping the new OS does well by you!

It took this picture and this one, too.
The camera isn't great in low light, but it doesn't suck one bit.

I know it takes decent photos if there's enough light. But at least for me it only works with bright lighting, meaning that it starts failing even in normal household lighting if it's slightly on the dimmer side. That's not "a good camera". Unless one's definition of a good camera is "takes decent photos if the lighting is correct".
My friend has N97 and my Mum has N900, both have cameras that a) have flashes and b) take good pictures even if the lighting isn't halogen/spot -brightness.
