RTD in SFX: Torchwood Season 4

"Children of Earth ... demoted Torchwood - they have no power, they have no status within society. From being all-powerful they became terrorists on the run, practically, ( follow the happy welshman. More S4 this way... )

:D Just hearing (reading, okay) Rusty, John & Eve's enthusiasm for the new season is wonderful. I've got speculation again! I haven't had a decent dose of speculation in *ages*.

I have a great deal of faith in what is coming. I know that I am in the minority in saying that I'm excited to see what happens, but I really am. I really want to see how Jack is now, I want to see Gwen as a mum, I want to see their reunion, I just want to see it all.

Yes, this - all of it! I want to see how they move on, what happens next!

It's thinking back a way, but I'm sure the idea of TW as an outlaw organisation made up a fair bit of the squee back before S1 started, before we even knew that TARDIS!Rose had made Jack immortal. That it's 'fallen' is even better - IMO! - because we knew what they were, and what they've lost.

(It's probably really sad, but I'm really curious as to where Gwen and Rhys are living, and whether they've been forced upon the in-laws. She's lost her fabulous well-paid job, so could they afford the nice new house on just his wages?)

Hate to say this, but--hide the spoilers, puh-lease? I'm delighted by your squee, but I try like hell to avoid both spoilers and RTD interviews. (Unca Rusty scares me).

I did consider cutting, but that was for length! The only real spoiler I can see is for DW S5, and even that's pretty vague, are there more? To my eye the whole interview hasn't got anything *specific* in it - a setting, a vague situation, nothing about what they're doing, or even where they start and why - and as for Uncle Rusty... I'm hoping there'll be lots more interviews to report, with RTD as well as other cast and so forth in the coming months, so that could be a problem.

I can see that I'm going to have to give some serious thought to a spoiler policy if I'm hoping to have a safe haven for S4 squee here though. Thanks - and sorry if it upset you :(

And all the stuff about Torchwood not being rebuilt and staying unofficial and underground doesn't constitute a spoiler for s4?

Not upset, just a little bummed by the prospect--which is why I try to go into these things cold, without any spoilers. If I don't have any expectations, I can't be disappointed. I know this about myself. Once I figured out what your post was about, I quit reading, it just took me a couple paragraphs. And if you decide the policy is that, since this is a s4-and-later speculation community, it is a free-range spoiler zone, that's cool--just let us know and I'll take it off my watch list until after the series/season is done. Which would also kind of bum me out, but I can totally see that point of view. :-)

I didn't feel it was a spoiler because it wasn't anything new. I do take your point though, and I agree with the principle (even if it's only confirmation, it's still information), and I am sorry to have inadvertantly shown you something that bummed you out, so I'm going to cut the post (in a bit, when I finish typing!).

I have no intention of creating a spoiler-filled free-for-all - I wouldn't want to be there myself (and you've witnessed my attempts at promotion, it's hardly likely to get crowded round here...). It might be that you'll want to take gwenwood off your watch list soon anyway though. Time and whatnot permitting, I'd like to make a few changes to the user info and stuff, and there'll more than likely be things you'd rather avoid here at that point. I will post - spoiler free! - to ask opinions and then to warn before anything changes though. (And I promise to keep my lj spoiler free :)).

I'm very excited, it sounds wonderful. Also I don't think there are any spoilers in the post?

I don't see any either, so I don't see what the big deal is ...

:D only a year to go...

I didn't think there were any spoilers either (I don't think I've heard anything that could class as one yet), but I should work something out for when there are - I don't want to spoil anyone any more than I want to be spoiled!

Bigger & Better Than Ever. It's going to be epic, and it'll all about Jack and Gwen. This is Real!Torchwood...hopefully something closer to what we should have gotten with Jack all along.

All about Jack and Gwen... It does sound like they're the core of it, doesn't it :D

Torchwood is just such a wonderful idea. It's huge and full of potential, and, with Jack there, as good as timeless. It can be whatever the time (era, culture, whatever) requires of it, and however much I loved the Hub and the smallness of it, I am so very excited about watching its reinvention. (My pet theory, the type that's never likely to be confirmed - or denied! - is that Torchwood will one day, somehow, develop into the Time Agency. I like the irony of Jack creating his own reason for meeting the Doctor and Rose.)
