I am *so* glad right now that I don't have to deal with a car or having to shovel anything. Over two feet of snow in 24 hours will be the most this city has ever had in recorded history

The big bosses in Chicago are freaking out about the blizzard, putting employees up in hotels so that they can still get to the office tomorrow and such. I got a couple of panicked phone calls to ensure that I'd still be coming into the Austin office and could stay late if need be to cover any emergencies that come in.
Yeah, I was at first burning with anger but then it subsided and I'm still laughing at the absurdity of the situation. I mean...wat.
Yeah, my office also asked me if they could put me up at a hotel a few blocks from work in order for me to stay late tonight and then be in the office all day tomorrow. They asked this after I was already at work for a few hours with obviously, no overnight bag/clothes/toiletries, etc. Eff naw. I went home.
