Angel and Katie Interview at the Expo:

Adorable interview with Katie and Angel at the Expo - I think between the Q&A and the signing. The question Angel mentions being asked is the one I asked her. ^_^

And I am SO for this whole mud wrestling idea. -_^ )

Thanks for bringing this up. I watched the interview earlier and the girls continue to be adorable and beautiful and total BFFs, but I'm more than a little ticked at Johnny Capps for his general "LOL YEAH RIGHT" stance on the girls getting their own episode.

Like no, seriously, wtf is so funny.

Sigh. He doesn't even seem to be aware that he's saying anything weird, either. Though I love Katie's and Angel's responses -- good-natured sweethearts though they are, it's pretty clear they want nothing to do with freaking mud wrestling or whatever the equivalent would be on a kids' show. They just want their own episode for once, considering even Gaius had one.

Angel's deadpan "you're very forward-thinking men, obviously" FTW, though. Love her.

Yeah, that's part of the problem - this is very well meaning sexism. Johnny Capps honestly strikes me as nice guy who knows his work well - but he's made a career in an industry that thrives on pushing the status quo, and the status quo with child-oriented, family-friendly tea-time programming is that it needs to be all about the boys. I'm sure the guy doesn't REALISE quite how this sounds - the fact that Katie and Angel take it like they do, with sardonic good humour, suggests that they KNOW he doesn't mean anything by it, even if they're probably a little frustrated with that attitude.

But it's just... ugh, it's frustrating. The show may be called 'Merlin' but we HAVE had plenty of episodes that don't feature him in a central role (2x04 immediately springs to mind). The writers aren't afraid to sideline him in the name of pushing major development for the other characters. So there IS no good reason that Gwen and Morgana CAN'T have just ONE episode that focuses on their relationship. The legends themselves DO often have an angle ( ... )

lol that was you who asked that? Thats so cool you're like famous kinda X-D

I agree with everything above except that I'm a little more optimistic thinking we will be getting a morgana/gwen episode. This was just a couple minutes on the topic whereas I'm sure lots more time has been spent talking (mudwrestling joke-free) about this amongst the...episode-maker-people. In this interview it might seem like a brush-off, but I dont think that's always the case at all. This interview was very light and full of them just joking around, so I'm not reading too deep into it.

Also, I suck at understanding these accents (except Katie's lol) can someone tell me what Angel says after katie says she wants to be Uther??? They start giggling and teasing afterward and its KILLING me that I dunno what she said. I can understand Gwen on the show with a little effort on my part, but Angel in real life speaks different somehow and I never get what shes saying the first like, 2 or 3 times D-:

She says something like "what; are you saying you think Anthony's a Queen?"

Then Katie says, "that's not what I'M saying, but that's what YOU'RE saying", and something else I can't make out. ;)

*loves on you all for talking about this*

I'm so happy to see and hear these two. They're sharp and funny and thoughtful and I wish, wish, wish they got a lot more action and a lot less waking up frightened and binding wounds.

Hopefully if the fans keep asking/supporting the idea, it'll happen?

Or perhaps there could be a body swap. Merlin and Arthur get trapped in Morgana and Gwen's bodies and of course Uther can't find out...and then, idk, Morgana-as-Arthur and Gwen-as-Merlin have to go save something. The idea amuses me, and it could be a halfway point to the girls being awesome in their own right.
