Gwen and Morgana in the series 2 premiere:

Sep 07, 2009 17:33

Okay, so this is everything I  remember of Morgana and Gwen in the series 2 premier. I'll list Morgana's moments first, then Gwen's, then put up what i remember of them in the series 2 trailer that came up after the episode.

Obviously great big detailed spoilers, and some speculation: )

2x01, series 2

I was hoping this would go up before I had to leave -- thank you again for sharing so many details! ♥ Now I've read a girl-centric report, my vicarious BFI viewing experience is complete. *g*

Will have to help speculate some more when I get back but squee! Morgana/Gwen slashiness in her room! *happysigh* Which is totally where Gwen spends most of her nights now, obviously. Morgana saying that Gwen must want to knock her on the head makes me want to hug them both, or have them hug each other some more. *wibbles*

SO HAPPY Morgana gets to kick some ass. And Gwen gets to save Arthur at least once this season, I was hoping for that too. From what I hear, that end of things may be handled well without sacrificing the other character dynamics, which makes me really happy. Arthur not knowing what to say and Gwen being confuzzled by it and the two of them generally being awkward is one of my favorite things.

REALLY curious who Merlin's kissing, and I wonder if this whole deal with Gaius drugging Morgana will come to a head this season. *

I wonder about the drugging issue myself. I don't know if they'll ever really tackle that particular aspect of the skeeviness of keeping Morgana's powers from her, since it's quite a subtle point and this show is RARELY into it's subtle points. XP

Thank you for this. From the reviews I've read - including yours - this is very much a Merlin and Arthur episode, with tiny scenes featuring the girls. I'm particularly intrigued by this: Gaius suggests that he will make something stronger for Gwen to give her and Morgana asks 'like a blow to the head? I'm sure she'd like to give me one.' It sounds as though Morgana is increasingly frustrated by her nightmares and her lack of control over them (while Gaius is... Gaius), which might be an indicator of where her character will be going this season. And since we see more of Mordred this season, I'm wondering if he becomes an important part of Morgana's increasing self-awareness.

Of course, I'm also intrigued where this takes the two girls - there have been talk about their friendship being tested... The real question is, does it survive the test? How far are they going to take it? What kind of a Morgan Le Fay will Morgana be?

(All the femmeslashers in the audience - of which there were a surprising number - cheered. Me and [info] ( ... )

I'm increasingly wondering about Morgana's frustration with her nightmares too. By now, she MUST suspect that there's more to her nightmares than what Gaius is telling her, and I have to wonder how far she'll go to find out what IS happening to her and how she can control it.

My guess is that Gwen will be ceaselessly loyal to Morgana - up to the point where Morgana looks like she may be placing herself in danger. At that point I think Gwen may decide that betraying her mistress in order to keep her safe is a better option than standing back and letting her get hurt.

This sounds really really interesting, thank-you for posting. And I also hope they put the trailer out so the rest of us can look.
