Photos of Post ICD Surgery

Dec 05, 2006 21:03

As you may remember, on October 19, 2006 I went into cardiac arrest. On November 3, 2006 I had an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) implanted. I had my mom take pictures as I wanted to be able to document what happened to me. Sparrow Hospital is doing a story on me (along with several other people) and a freelance photographer that ( Read more... )

Yeah, that's exactly what's inside of me.

On the back it's sales pitch is "small, efficient, reliable" ..... as if you're "shopping" for one of those things *laughs*

Me too!!!! *hugs*

How goes life on your end?

Can't complain much - still looking for a different job, still doing wedding videography as well.

I'm sure the tagline on the back is just what you need. Now you know you have the words "small, efficient, reliable" implanted within you - you should just take that as a summary of your own skills, methinks.

It was great to see you earlier this year. Let's find a better occasion to hang out next time, okay?

How's the new car? I feel that most of my friends are in a constant search for something better - job wise.

That really made me both laugh and smile!

I completely concur with both statements!!!

I'm glad you are ok! You've been through alot and, I know I'm not some super close friend or anything, but I am still very impressed with and proud of you. Life took a couple of nasty shots at you and you took em and kept swinging. I hope you are happy with yourself. And I hope you heal up fast. Recovery can be a pain but it's better than the alternative :)

Thanks so much for the warm words - they mean a lot!!! The alternative doesn't even compare to what I was blessed with!

Hope all is well with you!

You could be the next poster child for the Pacemaker - you could help appeal to the younger crowd! And that's so funny that there's that tag line on the device - seriously, like do people browse for those things? Like it's between one that says "small, efficient, reliable" and the one that says "excessively large, semi-efficient, and not terribly reliable"?

My mom joked that it looked like I was a model for the company - cracks me up.

I know - who reads the back of an ICD to select the model they want!?

I wanted the one they thought was best for me, personally!!!

That's a great smile! You're an excellent model. I want one! :) Okay, no, I don't. But I'm glad everything went so well with yours. :) I can't believe it's been that long since the surgery, but I'm glad everything is going smoothly. I'll continue keeping you in my thoughts as your recovery continues. And, heck, I'll keep you in my thoughts after that too, just because I'm that kind of guy. And, heck, you have a nice smile. ;)

Thanks so much for the compliment - and the nice thoughts! Maybe Guidant will let me model for them to pay them back for the device they donated!

Things are excellent with me. Work is fine, although stressful. Home life is good. And I am enjoying the holidays more this year than I have in the recent past. I still miss the old crowd in Philadelphia a bit, but that's normal for this time of year, and I think I'll be able to get back for a visit soon after the new year. So all is good! :)

Sounds like things are really pretty happy for you! I'm glad :)

Things are a bit rough this year with Alex gone - the holidays just aren't the same. We didn't celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas is going to be hard. But, we're getting along as best as we can. I'm still feeling very lucky that I'm getting the chance to be around this year.
