Sharing Pictures

Some of you reading this will say "no problem".  There are FLICKR and  deviant Art (not as nasty as it sounds) where I have accounts, plus a host of other sites.  Many allow purchase of prints, though that can get expensive at some of these sites if all you want to do is share your pictures with family and close friends*.

When me and Joe (Joe and I, to the grammarians out there) went on our Savannah trip, I ran out of memory card space and as Walgreens was the only place nearby to get prints done, I took my memory card to them. I was able to get prints and have them make a CD of the pics so I could erase the card and take more pictures. I was fairly satisfied with the service. The kiosk is simple to use and the photos turned out well. The resolution on the CD could have been better and they do put on a picture-viewer/downloader on the CD that tries to install when you put the disc in the computer. It's recommended that you turn off the auto-load on your CD player if you've got your own viewer/don't want yet another program installed! (That's my default setting, anyway.)

I always disable the autorun feature on the CD. Autorun is a (minor?) security risk (especially if you get CDs from dubious sources). I also like to have control over what runs on my machine and when. The picture viewer you mentioned is one of those things that I'd rather not have run on its own, and definitely I don't want it installed. I have my own that I know and love.
