Serendipity.

Another of those special words that evokes a lot of meaning.

Some of you reading this will say "no problem".  There are FLICKR and  deviant Art (not as nasty as it sounds) where I have accounts, plus a host of other sites.  Many allow purchase of prints, though that can get expensive at some of these sites if all you want to do is share your pictures with family and close friends*.

Down here* there are a few sure indications of spring.  Two of the most obvious are Dogwoods and Azaleas.

Dogwoods may show up a bit earlier than the Azaleas.  How much earlier depends on the year/weather.  If the leaves on the other trees have not yet emerged, you can see these islands of white in the woods.  A week or so later, and the newly ( Read more... )

I finally needed numerous copies* of some digital photos so decided to try the local processing locations.  In my case, the most convenient are in drugstores.  The two I tried were CVS and Walgreens.

The short version:
    The quality of the prints was equal.

The cost was a bit better at CVS.

The 'user experience' was much better at Walgreens.

One of my long time hobbies, and mentioned a few times in the posting I've done here and on dA.

During my reading I came across a mention of a B&W film that is designed to be processed using C41 chemistry.  C41 is what is used to process Color film, though it is possible to process regular B&W film with it.   The results are not as good as using the ( Read more... )

One of my hobbies.  Have been at it since I was 14 or 15 years old (hard to remember that far back)*.   While researching for the previous post, I found this link to a place where photographers' work is displayed.
