Of swamps and haircuts

I'm rolling on the WMD book, finally. Got chapter 3 organized in a logical fashion (half the battle), pretty much following the DHS's UTL for content. Of course, that means the original outline was tossed out the window, but hopefully the committee won't care too much. At this point, I don't think I'm capable of following an original outline to ( Read more... )

Does he watch Stargate? I'm sure I've asked you this before, but I've forgotten the answer. If he does, what does he think about this season?

I've seen most of the new Doctor Who (now the not-so-new, since they've switched Doctors again...) and liked it just fine. We're happy it's coming on Sci-fi finally! (Reis is the GIANT GIANT GIANT Who geek.)

I can't believe she got here before me. :)

I am, in fact, the biggest nerd for Doctor Who I know, although for financial reasons I got out of the novel thing (including selling my enormous set of Virgin Books novels, for which I kick myself regularly... sigh.) The 2005 Who season is, indeed, excellent by and large; if it seems a little rough at first, give it time. I promise you, before the end of the season you will see a few of the most striking Doctor Who scenes ever and you will go "OH MAN THEY TOTALLY GET IT" and you will celebrate. Okay, maybe just me. Except I know from others that it's not. :)

The previews look great. And the special effects look much improved. :-) Kate and I got on Netflix, and I've been watching some of the old Tom Baker/Sarah Jane eps on DVD. They just make me happy. I can't help but to laugh.

Ah, Tom. I've watched all the Doctors, you know, although not much of Patrick Troughton due to not much being available, and Tom will always be a favorite, and not, I think, just because he's all I knew when I were a kid watching it on PBS.

Having said that, I adore Christopher Eccleston and am still bummed about him only doing the one series. You will enjoy him, too. If you aren't saying "fan TAS tic" (you'll know what I mean soon enough) in a few months, I'll eat my enormous scarf.
