Heero's "training" starts from the toddler days, Odin Low is shown teaching him how to hold a gun. He is somewhere around 9-10 when he meets Dr J ( ... )

i'd have to disagree about Duo's, especially since we don't know when he ended up on the streets. considering his street rat days Duo could have been training as long as Trowa. i don't know why i keep thinking Wufei's wife was supposed to be 05 instead... probably an extremely old fic.

i should have clarified that i was looking for their time with the doctors. i thought Trowa'd be one of the last considering he wasn't the chosen pilot.

With the Drs, as a pilot, yes Trowa would be the shortest. Although he implies that he was working on heavy arms for some length of time. Quatre would be next and Duo in the middle.

Shit I used to know this in better detail. Assuming they're all 15 years old at the anime events.... Heero started very young, as far back as he has memories, if you count his time with Odin Lowe. If you don't, I want to say he was about 8 when he met J. So that would make his Gundam-specific training stint about 7 years long (AC 188-195). Duo was something like 12 when he sneaked into Prof G's hangar. From AC 192-195, so about 3 years training, which is actually shortest next to Quatre. I think his street smarts just make up for lack of formal training. Trowa was doctored into a violent lifestyle through the mercenaries also as far back as he has memories, but there is no info on when he started working as a mechanic on the Gundam or when he actually took over as pilot (as far as I can tell). Quatre's training was the shortest, and the only timestamp I can find is that AC 193 is bit before he was convinced to pilot Sandrock. So less than two years. And I don't think they give a timeline for Wufei's training, though if I ( ... )

There is some implication that his time as the pilot was hasty.

Deikem was bankrolling the gundam and intended for his son to pilot it. Now sure they probably didn't talk every night but as some point the crazy old koot was bound to notice that "Trowa" was NOT his son. So that would have to be very close to the start of the series.

wasn't the switch from Trowa to "Trowa" covered in Endless Waltz somehow?

I believe it was shortly after crazy-Trowa shows No-name the picture of his niece.

*only skimmed through the other posts, yoinking from Episode Zero* Assuming that everyone was born in AC 180 (I've heard it rumored that Trowa is supposed to be a year older but haven't seen anything official for that ( ... )

*Wufei obviously knew how to pilot a Mobile Suit, because he does so in Episode 0 when Meilan dies; there's about a year between her death and the start of the series so presumably he could've spent the better part of that training with Shenlong and Master O specifically (once it was completed).

i'm assuming Trowa's training specifically with Heavyarms is about 2 or 3 years before canon. there was a scene in EW i think, that showed when Trowa was replaced by No-Name and he doesn't look much younger than canon.

so if Wufei was in the boarding school til he was 14 and Shenlong wasn't finished, his training with Shenlong could have been the shortest...

thanks! ^^

Our Trowa (No-Name) took over piloting Heavyarms at the very last second, iirc. *checks Ep 0* yeah, on page 219, we have Doktor S's dialogue from EW ("Very well. As of now, you're Trowa Barton") leading directly into Trowa participating in the altered Operation Meteor. How long Trowa worked on Heavyarms as a mechanic is unknown, though. ^.^

Yeah, Wufei didn't spend very long with Shenlong at all ^o^
