cage size?

So, two days ago I brought home another little girl pig to foster and find a home for. She came from the same place that Maybelling and Phoebe came from, whom I got 3ish weeks ago. (long story, crazy person who got them for her kids, let them breed and then dumped them.) M & P live together in a big franken-cage I made, and then I have two other ( Read more... )

I expect they'd love to live in one big herd. The main downside would be if you couldn't keep fostering. That sounds like a pretty big downside to me.

Peanut is my neutered boy, he came to me that way. I also wouldn't neuter/spay a piggie w/o a medical reason, myself. I just meant about keeping them, wouldn't it hurt them, psychologically, to be bounced around? I mean, if they're here now, and happy in pairs, and normally I place in pairs, that's not such a big deal. But what if they all get along really well and bond and such, then I'd feel terrible to place them in another home. I've never done that before, and I don't want to do anything upsetting to them. But now, Daphne (new pig) is living alone, but if I put her with Maybelline and Phoebe, it's virtually impossible to adopt out a trio, so if I only did one at a time, or one and then a pair...I just don't want to upset them anymore. That's why I'm thinking if I did that they'd have to stay. But maybe I'm wrong...does that clear up why I'm confused? Please let me know what you think.
