So, two days ago I brought home another little girl pig to foster and find a home for. She came from the same place that Maybelling and Phoebe came from, whom I got 3ish weeks ago. (long story, crazy person who got them for her kids, let them breed and then dumped them.) M & P live together in a big franken-cage I made, and then I have two other pairs of two pigs in C&C cages. The three cages take up almost the entirety of the queen size bed in my spare room, so while not sure the size off hand, they're pretty big. Right now New Pig is in a tiny crappy pet store cage since that was all I had handy to house her in for now. I want to keep her alone for at least a week, normally I do two weeks, but since she came from same home as M & P, I'm wondering if it would be okay to try them all together. But I'm not sure if the house is big enough, and I also kind of worry about if I adopt out two (usually do same sex pairs unless only have a singleton here and can find suitable home, or if they have a pig but want a buddy), then what if they get really used to each other, and then get sad if they aren't a trio any more? And how big would the cage need to be?
Also, gotta just say it: I'm kind of tempted if, after Maybelline and New Pig finish Pregnancy Watch, and aren't pregnant, to just say Whatever, and remodel all cages and have a GIANT cage the size of the bed with all six girls and one neutered boy in it. However, I may have lost my mind. Peanut n Snickers are 6ish, I took them in in April, Poptart and Lily...Poppy is a year now, I estimate, and Lily maybe 2-3?, and these girls are all Mystery Ages. If I did that, I'd have to keep them, (which is cool, but means I can't keep foster/adopting), and what if other pigs didn't like each other IN their cages? They all live nose to nose so it's not like they're strangers. And the idea of all these adorable cute pigs in a giant herd is REALLY tempting.
So...input? thanks guys :)
