Luck has a manner of doing that.

At the most inopportune times.

That's usually how it works. And why you always need a backup plan.

It's all right, Lieutenant. Curses take a toll on us eventually.

At least we can take some comfort in that they seem to do so relatively impartially.

Just from looking at the network, it seems a lot of people are missing things, that's all.

That is, perhaps, Captain Kuchiki's legacy there.

I have, yes. He is a wizard in his home world, and his first recommendation said that he served as something of a magical police officer there.

I'm aware the purpose is for anything involving the deceased or elsewise something damaging to the souls of the residents. However, the type of skills that seems to come with being a wizard tends to include some extra senses, which may be of benefit to the unit. It is, of course, up to you in the end.

He has; Abby Sciuto of Forensics was his first, and Harry Dresden is the second. I haven't successfully made contact with Dresden, but it should happen soon. He seems...enthusiastic, a little brash. Slightly impatient.

He's a character all right.

Carlos is a good man though and one of the most able and willing wizards I've ever met. He's the youngest person ever to achieve his rank and while part of that is because it's war time and causalities cause people to get shuffled around he's done a superb job. You couldn't ask for a better soldier or friend.

Thank you; noted.
