If Rose thought anymore about what had happened with Dimitri in the gym earlier, she was going to either go insane with wanting him or get angrier at herself for pushing something when she was out of control.

She didn't regret kissing him exactly, but she regret losing her temper before and everything she'd said.  She was just - so tired of trying

Jaina had already gotten the call from Dimitri to say they weren't going to be back yet, so once she saw who was calling (and more importantly that it wasn't Adrian), she answered, "You're lucky we're friends."

She wasn't actually upset or anything but the greeting was too good to pass up.

"I owe you so much," Rose said instantly. "Like, I don't know, a puppy."

"No pets, I lasted like a week with John's fish before it starved," she said immediately. "Somehow I'll survive, probably by hanging this over you for a while."

"Is he being awful?" Rose asked. "How about like a hundred million pedicures?

Or hanging it over her head. That worked too.
