The GREAT HURRICANE SEASON OF DOOOOOOOOMMMMM

Sep 21, 2005 21:01

So, now that I've had time to sit and think objectively, I'm cool, calm and reasonably collected. I've spent the last few afternoons doing NOTHING. As a result, I'm now behind on my schedule made for Svelte's b-day pressie plan -_-; THat's ok. I'm confident I can catch up this weekend ( Read more... )

That's crazy! O_O I hope Rita doesn't go anywhere near you and that it won't damage as much even if it's a category five...*gonk*

My wishes are with you. *hugs* Best of luck. ^_^

Isn't it? And so fast too! And the damn thing is SLOWING DOWN!!! I'm like NO DAMN IT!!! COME FASTER!!! The closest track puts the center about . . . maybe 150-200 miles away. BUT we would still be on the east side which is the BAD side - the side with all the water being pushed inland.

The pressure indicates how much damage it's gonna do . . . that along with sustained winds. I'm not sure what the pressure is right now . . . I think it's on par with Katrina. They're saying it'll weaken to a 4 just before landfall but 4s are just as bad.

Thanks! We need a little good luck. *hugs*

I saw the newspaper today and it said that it's still at 5- dang, if only the US could build a series of islands right at that area, it would probably help slowing down the hurricanes so that the damages aren't this bad. @_@

More and more best wishes! *glomps*

Actually there is . . . or there used to be - the Chandeleurs used to be a natural barrier along the Louisiana coast. After so many strong hurricanes over the years (particularly Lily), they've eroded to the point of uselessness.

Yep, that's what my mom's co-worker said too ;-; I'm getting the HELL outta here if it looks like it's coming close to us. It was redone when I was like 15 but other than that, nope ^_^ Same kitchen. And yeah, Matt's 21 now O.O Hard to believe isn't it???? ^_^ By the way, how are you guys doing with YOUR hurricanes?

I don't know I haven't kept track. I think Max is a 4 but I'm really not interested enough to look it up. plus we don't have cable so it's not like I watch the weather channel

oh I'm so jealous you had Cane's. that's like the only thing I miss about that place. if my dad comes in Dec. he's bringing me some packed with dry ice

;-; You mean they don't give you the info on local weather?

Yeah, Cane's sauce is to DIE for isn't it ^_~

Wow, talk about some amazing before-and-after shots. Those are pretty good, and what a survivor story you've got...

In any case, if you ever wanna stay FAR FAR FAR away from hurricanes, get thee to Earthquake Country. We got plenty of space here. :P (I'm serious. If Rita did damage that left you with a place to be, my door's open. Sure, it's far, but it's 100% safer than being in a hurricane's path.)

Um, thank you? ^_^ I dunno if it's really a survivor story . . . I mean, we were on the "easy" side for that one (not so for this one).

Now, that's what I call surviving. Earthquakes don't give warning ;-; Trust me, if I could, I'd be there but . . . going West isn't feasible at the moment . . . neither is going East. Going North isn't exactly a walk in the park either x.x And the closest hotel vacancy is in Tallahassee! XO

I am thinking I should somehow swing my way down there and grab you up so you don't have a choice but to come with me to Cali. Our hurricanes over there are of so little importance that most of the time people are unaware that they are happening. I hope that something manages to knock Rita off course and she ends up going back out and not into you or anyone else down there. My prayers are already starting to come for you guys ( ... )

I wouldn't recommend coming down here right now. People are going nuts. Seriously. I'm not much better. It's amazing I'm still sitting here.

Now they're saying a system coming over Texas will cause it to STALL. I'm going WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*LOL* I'll put some Andrew and Lily pictures up cuz I really don't have any interesting Katrina pics left . . . Unless there's some film I didn't develop. What posters couldn't you get? I have two Slayers cells, Fushigi Yuugi, YuGiOh, Rurouni Kenshin, Dragonball Z, and - of course - Gundam Wing ^_~ Oh, and a Ranma 1/2 wall scroll.

I've never done the clothes line thing before. Honestly, NEVAH. Until now ^_~

You know I am crazy enough to come down there just to come get you, girl!

I placed all the posters with the exception fo the Fushigi Yuugi one. I have not actually seen much of that one, though I am very familiar with the artist. I have one of the Ceres books sitting up on my printer right now. ^_^ Of course it is waiting to be returned to its rightful owner *pushing it behind a stack of dvds*

Well now you have done it! I'm sure it was a most memerable experience too.
