As the days went on, Glenn found himself slowly settling into his new life on the island. It did help now he had things to do beyond building, one of which was Rohleod. Caspian was out on his daily ride with Jonquil when he spotted Glenn with a horse of his own, and steered her away from their usual course to meet them. "A fine animal," he said in greeting, reining Jonquil to a stop some few feet away.

Rohleod had never been around another horse but Karen's before, and she snorted, her ears perked forward in interest.

"Sir Caspian, greetings," he said with a smile. He glanced up at the mare and patted her neck. "Indeed she is. She came to me not long ago; a gift from the island, it seems."

Caspian dismounted, holding Jonquil's reins in one hand while extending the other to Glenn's horse to sniff. "Jonquil came in much the same way January last," he explained. "If they are gifts from the island, they are good ones." He had long since ceased to find it strange that he could think of the island as an entity all its own.

"Aye, I am certainly not complaining," he chuckled. "I was nae around horses much back home, and I am glad to be given the opportunity now."

Placing the brush aside, he wiped his hands on his pants. "I hope ye and thy horse are doing well today. It has been a while since we last spoke."
