As the days went on, Glenn found himself slowly settling into his new life on the island. It did help now he had things to do beyond building, one of which was Rohleod. The mare had boundless energy, and her temperament was conducive to both train her as well as allowing her around other people.
He was outside for the moment with her, near his hut. He had taken some fruit and some vegetables from the compound kitchen as a treat for the animal, and she took the banana he was offering her with no hesitation at all.
"I knew ye would like this," he murmured, and laughed a little when the horse nudged him slightly when she had finished eating, in a gesture that almost seemed like she was asking for more. "Aye, aye, I know. But this will be it for now."
He grabbed a carrot from the small pile he had and smiled as he watched her start eating that as well. He smiled and reached up to run his hand through her mane as she did. Perhaps he would take her out riding soon.
