They've made a new version of the Kursoawa film Seven Samurai. It's only about 7 minutes long, as opposed to the 3 hours plus of the orignal, but it looks pretty awesome.

Also, Indiana Jones was pretty rad, except for the last 15 minutes which sort of sucked.

Exam week sucks by the way.

I couldn't figure out why this coffee was so awful. I realized I had made tea.

The best food in all of Japan is okonomiyaki, which is what I had for dinner tonight.

Chika came over to Ikebukuro (where I live) and we went food shopping in the big Tobu department store. They have a two story food market in the basement levels (yes the basement!). We bought all the ingredients together, which was a lot of fun as she teaches me ( Read more... )

Shaving with razor blades is pretty interesting. One gets a very clean cut, especially with Feather blades, an incredibly sharp instrument made here in Japan. It is somewhat disconcerting though to use an older blade, and accidentally cut one's face. The shaving cream turns a sharp red, and my face does its best hinomaru impression.

Today is a new day for cell phones! I'm switching companies to Softbank today, and will probably get this phone. My current phone is about two years old, which is clearly just too old to continue being my phone.

So I am bored here in Tokyo. Chika has Spring Break coming up in March. So we will go to D.C. together in March! From March 6th to March 16th I will be in the capital with her. It's exciting!

Finished my last paper last night, and sent it to my prof. So now I am bored. Really want to go visit Chika in North Carolina during Spring Break, but I might have responsibilities during that time, and that isn't to mention the cost ( Read more... )
