What are your design objectives for these rules? What kind of play are you hoping to encourage?

I'm going for heroic/cinematic. Essentially, I'm hoping the game will be very Pulp adventure.

Doug may have other ideas for certain parts of it, but that's my aim.

So that people don't need to continue commenting;

Things we are going to change in light of feedback:

negative hits / killing people rules are undergoing thinking about.
Dodges *might* change to being only applicable against ranged damage.
Parries are being cut.
Subdue damage is being cut.
