Political opportunism? You bet.

Florida Governor Charlie Crist was a Republican. He's still governor, but changed to an independent when he realized he couldn't win the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate race.

There have been a lot of rumors swirling around Crist's sexuality, and in what seems little better than an effort to shut people up, Crist recently married a beard and ( Read more... )

For a second I was so confused.

This is the mentality of a person who is trying his best to LOOK important, it only serves to annoy people once they catch on. Also becomes a blemish, sometimes a large blemish, on the legacy of the said person once they get out of office.

See, you say all this, but you have no concept what a world with Rubio in the Senate would look like. You know what a catastrophe Florida always is? Yeah. It'll be your problem, too.

I didn't say anything about Rubio. I don't much care for Rubio. I used to be a fan of Crist, but I have no respect for his political opportunism or phoniness.

Given a choice, I would probably vote for Crist, but I would feel a little slimy.

I dunno. Crist has always been pretty moderate. The issues he's been opportunist on are very slim. And, considering how far left you have to go to find support for LGBT issues in Florida...

Meek is just so uninspiring. He ran a dirty, lame primary and now we're all stuck trying to figure out whether Crist has a shot at pulling away Republican votes or if he's going to split the left. This makes him less electable, not more, and has really left Florida D voters floundering.

That's how politics works. Every politician does it, it just looks more obvious here in a contested state.
