Seems like they wanted those girls to look worse in their peer's eyes than just cave to student's rights. Face it schools, not every student you get is going to be your version of the "perfect" child and they won't all follow your lead but you can't take things away from them and when you don't win, throw a fucking hissy fit? Really mature.

Actually, a similar thing happened at my school. I began talking about wearing a tuxedo and a notice went around stating that gender-appropriate wear was required...

I just really can't imagine either of my schools would have cared about such things (the British system means I had a leaving do at 16 and at 18). The whole thing just seems bizarre to me.

I noticed that too-- so many treated it like the school had no part in canceling the prom. Ridiculous.
