Something tells me that the "8" part is going to be lost on most New Jersey residents, since Prop 8 was across the country in California.

Not necessarily. Many of the volunteers I've gathered are aware of Proposition 8, and we refer to it when we promote the event (at least on the event page). You're right in that the '8' part might be lost on some, but more people are aware of Prop 8 in New Jersey than one might think. ^^

Sure, gay people. But Joe Schmo on the street, the heterosexual we're trying to win over? I don't he's going to care or be knowledgeable about California's Prop 8 backlash or see its relevancy to New Jersey.
