My favorite part was that last bit in the second article...

Yeah, cause those tiny little two-piece prom dresses that are all the rage now aren't a "sexual statement."

There are schools that require girls to wear dresses? I've seen some pro dresses marketed and if I were a chaperone, I'd prefer the pants!

Hmm. I'm trying to think if my school had a dress code for Prom. I don't think they did. Weird. Maybe they've had some outrageous stuff in the past that required them to adopt a dress code, but I certainly don't blame her for bucking this. It's ridiculous. If there's gotta be a dress code, why can't it just say everyone has to wear "formal" wear and be decently clothed?

The school shouldn't make such a big deal out of it. She wants to wear a tux. Oh noez! Civilization will crumble! Really, what is so horrible about it? Although on a certain level I really can't relate to the entire prom experience as I went to a hippy high school in Massachusetts. We had one dance every year and some people treated it like prom and some people didn't.
