Kind of conflicted over here . . .

I gave up on X-Men and on Marvel as a whole long ago. Less long ago, I gave up on seeing movies in mainstream theaters (with one instance of backsliding to indulge my lingering weakness for certain wand-swishing bookworms). Yet I'm really, really tempted by X-Men: First Class. The premise sounds like it's closer to an Xavier/Magneto movie than I ( Read more... )

Maybe it would be better to wait for it to come out on DVD or until it gets uploaded on youtube. That way you won't have to give money to the movie!

Maybe. That's what I usually do, but I'm not sure I can wait. On one side, there are my principles. On the other side, Xavier/Magneto. This is a harder choice than it ought to be.

Looking at your icon, I can't stop myself from imagining Charles Xavier being secretly addicted to gay-themed pulp novels during the mid-twentieth century and going to great lengths to find new ones as they were published. And Erik would find out, of course, and he'd get all, "This is not good literature! This is poorly written, formulaic trash with gratuitously lurid cover art."

*facepalm* I think I just got my first plot bunny from this movie I haven't even watched.
