Ice storm, huh?

Hey, guys.  An ice storm's about to pour over my part of the world.  If I vanish for a few days, that's why.  (I really hope this isn't as bad as '94.  ::looks at all the trees in the area:: Really, really hope.)

If the power's still here tomorrow, I'll post about my topic of the day.  Feel free to add more to the list in the meantime!

Well, since I have to go to Oxford in the morning, I hope it's not too bad. Been raining all day today. Warmer this morning and now getting cold.

Yeah still raining here and starting to have grains of ice in it. I hear the Missouri bootheel and Arkansas have already gotten pounded.

And we got an ice storm down here too. One of my supervisors at work was having fun. (Not.) Our power at work kept going out, and then he'd have to call HQ and get permission to reboot the system, and after about the fourth time of this, he asked if he could just reboot without having to call again.

Plus he'd been trying to get permission to close the store. HQ finally gave that permission after we'd been without power for about 30 minutes and the store phones died. (Our cell phones were still working.)

We had two customers come in. One must have left, and the other a co-worker sort of chased him out when the power went out that last time.

PS this is a retail boutique, and with the power going out, the computer would go down, and all the registers would be offline.
