You know, the funny thing about this is that I don't really make note of the gender of authors. So these stories probably sprang to mind because they either involve a feminist critiqe of society or an unsual female protagonst. It's entirely possible that I have bookshelves full of beloved books written by women authors at home that didn't jump out at me, if they don't fit that description.

1. Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy
2. Shards of Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold
3. The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N. K. Jemisin
4. Sheepfarmer's Daughter by Elizabeth Moon
5. The Dispossessed by Ursula LeGuin
6. The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk
7. The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
8. Kushiel's Dart By Jacqueline Carey
9. Valor's Choice by Tanya Huff
10. Kindred by Octavia Butler
