I also got a 'Please can I scratch my skin off' rash with it, which was a bit of a bugger, really. Apparently it is a potential side effect of kurtosis (which is what the body does when it has no carbs. Apparently.)
BUT, low carb = great for me. In those two weeks, I ate vast amounts of fats, calories etc etc but no carbs (not even peas!) and lost half a stone - 7 lbs. Which has stayed off.
Since then I am working with low carb - limited bread, very little pasta (I pour my sauce over cauliflower!) small spoon of brown rice; and loads and loads of veg. Feel brighter, less bloated and generally healthier.
It may be that something like that would work well for you, too. It's not for everyone, and apparently doesn't work so well for men, but it might be for your metabolism. Something worth looking into, at least?
