We're in Boone, NC tonight.  The desk clerk was amazingly nice, the room's lovely and looks out over the mountains, and dinner was amazing and I don't just say that because we were starving.  If you come through, the Red Onion Cafe has wonderful, glorious food. (Including homemade cheesecake, made by the owner.  YUM.)

Darlin' it's ugly on a grand scale right now. Flash flood warnings, internet and tv coming and going. Ugly, ugly, ugly.

Yeah, Dragon's about to go mow ours while I start in on laundry. But my flowers are mostly looking good -- some marigolds seem dead, but everything else is blooming, including the new azaleas!

Not sure but I think I saw a squirrel wearing a life vest. More thunderstorms rolling in today (naturally, it's my lesson day).
