Loved the bits about the snuck in stuff. LOL! And I am not surprised. Have you heard of "Cheyenne Autumn?" I've heard a rumor that a few bits of the Dineh (Navajo) language used in that film don't match the subtitles. (Some bits translate rather naughty.) I so need someone who speaks Dineh to translate all the naught bits for me!

And as a Stargate fan, I love the idea of that line translating as 'And Ra ate shit.' Much more appropriate pep talk for folks who were living a slave existence.

And I can understand the re-dubbing of that line where Daniel was resurrected. lol!

Thanks for the funny bits. It made my day. Mind if I spread this around on a few Stargate fan lists? I can so see Jack asking about the "Ra ate shit" line. Jack would love that!

Oh, blast it -- I'm sorry, BEM, I thought I'd replied to this! yes, of course you can pass it along. If I'd wanted it kept private, I'd have friends-locked it.

Yes, that was exactly the anthropologist's point in changing the line to that: he thought they were gonna need a real pep talk to go back up against people with staff weapons! No, I haven't heard of "Cheyenne Autumn," but I understand there's a line in Shaka Zulu that's hilarious. The messenger comes tearing in, throws himself onto his face before Shaka Zulu, and he's *supposed* to report on the whereabouts of the enemy. Apparently what he *really* says translates roughly to "I'm not getting paid enough for this shit!"

::grinning:: It was a very fun talk. The man was insanely energetic, and quite happy to discuss strange behind the scenes stories.
