The one in my head right now is "Cherry Lane" - that's the right street name, right? I could sing the melody but I don't know the lyrics.

::interested:: Penny Lane you mean? Or it might be a different song.

Nope, that's it. avivasedai September 15 2005, 18:12:52 UTC
Yeah, not so good with the Beatles lyrics. My bad. I should go look that up, so at least I can put that song down for the day.

::laughing:: Good luck getting it out of your head, then.

Harrison's "Here Comes the Sun" ann_i_blessing September 15 2005, 14:09:25 UTC
But I don't know why. If beta consists of proofreading for typos and basic readability, I can do that. I proof galleys for my professor.

::laughing:: Among other things, yes. ::cheerful:: Shall I send the HL fic, then? (The XF/Buffy 1. isn't done and 2. direly needs a beta for Buffy canon.)

Certainly, and I'll try to get a quick turnaround for you. I'm gearing up for the new quarter next week, so I'm so organized people who know me wouldn't believe it!

First paragraph, "or greeting" looks like it ought be "of greeting".

(Yeah, I find nits and pick at them, sorry. Loved the story.)

::laughing:: Hey, better my friends tell me than any enemies. Thank you, kind lady, I'll fix it and repost. ::cheerful:: Glad you enjoyed it!

Ah! No, that *isn't* a typo. I may need to reverse the order, but no one's sure which she means by the gesture.

My bad, it does read properly once I fall into the flow of the style. Apologies.

I really enjoyed this story! I don't know much at all about X-Files canon, but I've read enough fanfic that I know a bit of who Alex is. Lovely look inside Dorian's head!

One thing I did notice though, was how often you referred to the "husky" or "lazy" voice. Was that an attempt to clue in the reader that it wasn't really Mulder?

I had a great time writing that as a crossover, and was surprised at just how much fun Dorian is to write. ::grinning:: Thank you for letting me know you liked it!

(Sounds like I need to edit that... husky is definitely Alex. Lazy might be either of them. ::amused:: But yes, I wanted the reader wondering who was using the name. Hope it worked for you.)

Thanks again!

I loved how you sort of sprang the change of identity on us, I think that worked great! I guess I didn't really pick up on the husky clue, but I'm sure that was lack of fandom knowledge.

I'm glad you liked writing Dorian, maybe you'll write him again?
