Someone talk me out of this? -- Too late.

Nov 04, 2004 13:30

I don't really want to play in Yuletide Treasures. Right?

Nope, I signed up for it. Clearly, I've lost my pea-picking excuse for a mind. Pardon me whilst I gibber in a corner about, 'I offered to write in one of *13* requested fandoms or crossovers? EEEP!'

1,000 words. I can do that. Right.

challenges, yuletide: panic, yuletide

Hey, whose side are you on? It'll be shite, I tell ya! Or just unreadable... {points at icon}

It won't be any more shite than mine will. :->

::laughing:: You're just trying to get me in trouble, right? ::sigh:: The company will be good though....

Oh yes, ma'am. You most certainly do.

Always happy to spread the insanity joy.

Me? Are you nuts? 1,000 words in some odd fandom I've probably never written, and Coyo not nudging me along? I've clearly lost my mind to even contemplate it. Really.

It's a chance to stretch your writing muscles! And I could be wrong, but I thought the minimum wordcount was 500 (I'm in trouble otherwise). I'll nudge you along if that'll help, and you can have the amusement of watching my own nervous breakdown over the whole thing.

Er, I'm pretty sure it's 1,000. ::sigh:: I should join the panic party, shouldn't I?

Yes, you do! It's 1,000 words on something you'd never write, otherwise. Think biblical revenge. Think of mythic sex in the grove of Apollo. Think of inquisitive, adventurous Moomintroll and Snufkin sex (I swear, if it wasn't for the person who suggested that, I'd be plaiting a vine around a certain plush-furred ankle now). Think of revisionist Peter Pan!

Okay, the first two, I get. Who, what, plush? Revisionist Peter Pan? Hooboy....

::laughing:: No comment on what I've signed up to write, but yup, I'm now treading water with the rest of y'all.

::laughing:: I'm insane; I signed up. Couldn't resist requesting a couple of those....

I'm about to go sign up. The hardest thing was settling on my requests--and I'm volunteering to write in 34 fandoms, I think.

::bows to the mistress:: You're crazier than I am. I'm impressed! (I think Killa said she offered 20 fandoms.) I have two or four I could add, but I don't think I'm going to do so.

See? Resistance was futile. Now what's fun is trying to guess what you may be called upon to write. I'm wondering if I'm going to end up doing Nero Wolfe.

::giggling:: I don't think you're supposed to admit what you've signed up for, hon. And cool! How do you feel about LJ-support group for this? I've signed up, you have, Ali, Vanzetti, Rana... Lord knows who else. Lys, Unovis, I think LTLJ....

Oops. Well, mostly they say lists, in your LJ, which I haven't done. Just mental math and and an indiscreet comment. ^-^

And yes, the sign up list this year is huge and terrifying, and it's a really good thing they're relying on algorithms. But what would we call it? whathaveidone and ohnoes are already taken. o.- Though there's always yuledoom.

I like 'yuledoom' but I was just thinking among our own journals and put something like 'yulepanic' in the subject?
