You said "wake up with the sun." Where the heck is the sun at 3:whatever in the AM? Over another part of the world, that's where. At 3, haven't you only been asleep for a few hours? That's just craziness, honeychild. Take it from one who hadn't gotten through a complete sleep cycle by then.

When we lived in Michigan, we had a split level house, and in the winter, we kids would stagger out of bed with our blankets curled around us and go downstairs to the TV and see if school was canceled. If so, we'd either curl up on this big black squishy could and go back to sleep, or gleefully hurl the blankets willy-nilly and bound into the snow. Wheeee, youthful exuberance.

... And I live two blocks south of one train track and four blocks north of another. I really *do* hear trains at night. Somehow they sound more like riverboats then, too, but I'm not that close to the Mississippi. And no, I used to get up with the sun. Now I wake up when I wake up, but it's usually straight from asleep to awake, no in between stage.
