Same. She planned to wear it herself, but I don't think she knew the bearer would die. She probably knew it was a possibility, but then that was the possibility of going into the Hellmouth to begin with.
The Just Rewards script notes Buffy's reluctance to leave, so I don't think she generally knew what would happen or that Spike was going to die.
Same answers, lol. I also picked "another answer" for the first one, though, because if Buffy could wear it, so could Faith, and I'm guessing Faith would've at least forced a conversation about which one of them would wear it.
It made sense to me that she was going to ask Spike to wear it. She saw how Angel was set on helping her and he would probably have worn it, so I think it makes a nice link between the two if Buffy had asked the only other ensouled vampire she knows. And I don't think she knew it would kill anyone, because otherwise she wouldn't have been so willing to let Spike or herself wear it.
Question: Would the amulet really have killed Buffy, though? I've always wondered. It seemed the amulet was channeling sunlight through Spike and he just happened to be a vampire, so the sunlight ultimately killed him. But Buffy's human (at least relatively so, according to S6) and the sunlight shouldn't have harmed her unless it was so intense that it also burned her from the inside out.
I can very easily see her asking Spike to wear it, too. I certainly think she turned Angel away (mostly) because of Spike.
I've wondered the same thing as you. I can see it going either way, the sunlight not harming her because she's human or the sunlight killing her because it's so powerful (I probably edge toward the latter b/c it would make more sense narratively that using the amulet required a sacrifice of sorts and because the sunlight is incredibly strong). I also have this pet theory, though, that the scythe could have channeled the energy and protected Buffy if she'd been wearing the amulet. No real logic behind it, other than that it's an energy conduit.
