A big thank you to everyone who prayed/sent good wishes to my friend's ill mum and the family. It's a long term illness that may take years or months to cure, so I'll probably not be able to update you guys with any new developments for a very long time. Still it seems like the family is in somewhat better spirits, so at least that's improved (as I ( Read more... )

A serious illness in the family always has a negative impact on everyone, I hope they will manage to cope with it all...

Sounds like a great way to spend time, I'm glad you had fun :) Also, the name of the university sounds so cool for some reason XD

Do your best, good luck with everything :)

Omg, that isounds absolutely horrible O_O It's all just done for the big company bosses to protect their money, not even the internet is safe anymore :(

Yeah, I do too...

Thanks :) I'm not really much of a party animal but I enjoy dressing up a lot, so costume balls are my favourite xD

Ha, ha, it does sound quite majestic, doesn't it? xD

It's actually named like that after the dynasty of kings that helped it a lot financially, etc. It was originally founded in 1364 by a king from the previous dynasty, but by 1400 it was not too well off, so the royal couple who started the Jagiellon dynasty, extended their support.

Thanks! I'm learning right now...

Those things are terrifying but a least people are acting against them, so I'm still hopeful.

You probably really like Halloween, then :)

I sort of know the name, it was mentioned during history studies at school - we are proud and envious that our neighbours Lithuanian managed to make such a big country together with Poland XD

I sure hope things will work out for internet users, Megaupload has already shut down D:

Sadly we don't really celebrate Halloween in Poland too much. Unlike Valentine's it didn't get popular over here. Probably because we have a serious holiday celebrating our deceased relatives and friends then and people think it would clash.

The autumn holiday to have fun here is St. Andrew's Day. It's believed to be a magical time when you can make predictions about the future. Usually there are parties held then, especially at schools :)

Yep, those were the good times xD Everyone enjoys this historical period around here, because after that things got gradually less stellar.

Yeah, I've heard about Megaupload. The other file sharing sites are in an uproar over this and God knows, how many will survive...
