small irl update
A big thank you to everyone who prayed/sent good wishes to my friend's ill mum and the family. It's a long term illness that may take years or months to cure, so I'll probably not be able to update you guys with any new developments for a very long time. Still it seems like the family is in somewhat better spirits, so at least that's improved (as I said they'd been struggling for a long time already, and mostly being very strong, but the weariness from it all had just kicked in recently).
Also last Saturday this friend took me to a costume ball held by the history study group of the Jagiellonian University (that's actually my university, only my major is English) because he felt like going out to take his mind off all those dark thoughts. We had a blast derping around and were even chosen the best dressed couple (he was a Persian dignitary and I his wife) xD I'll be posting some pictures in a few days. Anyway, this guy is the perfect date, because we're almost like siblings and can be really silly around each other xD
In other news I'm working pretty hard (teaching kids English and translating), studying to get my credit in pragmatics and reading books for my BA. I'm reading Lord of the Flies now. I should have read it long ago, but never had the time xD It's not really a "fun" read but definitely an intense one, so if you're into dark themes and psychological stuff definitely check it out.
Now about one thing that made me rage this evening. Everyone's heard about SOPA and PIPA right? But you probably haven't heard about ACTA. It's the same thing only for Europe edit. and the rest of the world as well (Jesus Christ, that's what I found out upon further inspection). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Counterfeiting_Trade_Agreement It's been kept a secret even longer and more efficiently than the American acts. And most of this happened under Poland's presidency over the EU. I'd feel ashamed to be Polish if it weren't for the fact that it's all the politicians' doing and none of the people's.
