We are the Forgotten
All 2.5 million of us - our
feet shuffle along streets paved
with hope - dodging the dope, trying
not to drown in liquor, we are
the Forgotten, our skin transparent
like translucent transformations of
sand, they don't see us, we hang on
the hearts of volunteers, shed tears
of desperation that taste slightly of
the streets
