All right, all right, Pesci is done with Ser Pokey's latest 500 page book which he wrapped up in a nice and neat 900 plus page cookbook. Oh the food, the food. That seriously made my day. You're right though - the cliffhanger overload was rediculous. I think the reason the book took so long (aside from various snack foods being available 'deep fried' now) is that he couldn't figure out how to end all those story lines. On-and-off reader, first time commenter. Thanks for giving voice to the fans' frustration in such an entertaining way.
I sympathize with Martin a little and all the pressure he was under to finish the book, but I agree wtih all the faults in DWD. Feast I could appreciate. It was kind of fun seeing the immediate aftermath from some new POVs, and I really liked Brienne's story.
With DWD the question I was asking myself all through was: why did this need to be written?
His Bearded Grandness apparently was gonna jump some years forward in time and pick up the character threads then, but couldn't. Well...why not? What happens here that couldn't have been better summed up in a few quick flashbacks?
Thanks for the Cliffs notes. Dany's version was a lot more entertaining that the real thing (Oh Dany what HAPPENED to you???).
I think I need to write a review of my own now...
