Sowing the Seeds of Anger

Ah, spring.  The time of year when a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of warm weather, spending time with friends, and books he would like to see published sometime before the Aztec apocalypse.  As usual, there is no stunningly remarkable news in the world of GRRM.  However, that does not mean there isn't fun to be had here at FTBG!  Because as ( Read more... )

1) Write script for the HBO series
2) Finish editing the new Wild Cards book FORT FREAK
3) Write up my version of the last Suvudu cage match so Jaime doesn't lose to Rand al'Thor
4) Complete A DANCE WITH DRAGONS

me soooo very, very sorry, however....

could someone, please bless me and be brief, I even hesitate to ask...what the fuck is Wild Cards anyway?

For some reason I have this vision of a bunch of mentalist superheroes sitting around a poker table dealing out death and destruction in some parallel universe as the cards are dealt.

or something like that. Anyway there seem to be a lot of them.

You forgot to mention that War and Peace is a major accomplishment of Western literature while a Dance with Dragons will at best be a NYT bestseller. You flatter ol' Fat Fingers a bit too much in the comparison

Agreed. If we assume that writing ADWD is *easier* than writing a masterpiece like War and Peace (as I assume it is) then that gives Chuckles even *less* excuse for not writing.

Nice!

But, to clarify: Back when Martin made the original announcement, he had said 'the book is done, but it's too big to be published as one volume. I am splitting it in 2 for that reason, and the 2nd part will be out next year.' That was five years ago, now.

That is the central point to the whole damned mess: the one that most of his defenders and such either ignore outright, or have no idea about. Martin lied to his fans. That, I think we have a right to bitch about without someone pulling the entitlement flag.

Hahahahaha. Liotta, you should submit that to Suvudu.

And reading that list of questions nearly gave me a rage stroke. Every time the flames of hate start to die out, these tards come along and add more fuel.
