AFFC #2: Lots of Talky, Talky, Talky.

Jan 12, 2009 12:58

Okay, so my first post on AFFC had to do with the silly nicknames. A small point, to be sure, but still a valid one. But today, I want to get down to brass tacks.

As mentioned before, much, if not all, of what I write about in this review of AFFC will be old news to many of you. However, much like a monkey with a microphone, I’ve got everyone's ( Read more... )

I am so glad I found this site. I am so tired of reading Martin's blog and him side stepping requests for updates as if he's being attacked. If he has time to blog about football and wet books so much what is so hard about giving an update on the book ( ... )

I wished he would have killed Brienne earlier. She is soooo boring.

I have the post here, because I suspected it would be deleted, but I really don't think it deserved a ban. It was in response to a heated exchange between a person who felt George should get to work and a person who fantasizes about grooming GRRM's beard with his lips, togue and genitals ( ... )

I suspect Martin has run out of patience with any form of dissent on his blog, and will crush it at the first sign. Only over-enthusiastic, blindly loyal fans need comment.

In other news, still no calendar. :( That's the very last time I do business with Dabel Brothers. Heck, it seems the people who ordered after August (in other words, who *didn't* preorder) are getting their calendars first. Maybe DB figures that the people who preordered are the most eager and thus more willing to wait.

Yep, being a Martin fan has been *such* a joyride since AFfC's publication.

That is so true. The basic rule in fantasy is: Unless the said character's head is rolling past someone's feet, he or she is most likely still alive.

I thought it was pretty obvious the Hound is going to cut her down. Martin went out of his way to let us know he's alive and remember the reborn Hound pretty close to Brienne's location.

Not necessarily! As we have seen, even characters with a second smile (Caitlyn) can still carry on in GRRM's books!
