Thanks Ray, for undertaking the onerous re-read (re-listen) to answer why I didn't like it. You're right, it is talky, talky. A lot of people who I really didn't care about talking to each other about things I really didn't find that compelling. The exposition that this book reveals could have been taken up in about three or four chapters. But no, needing to fill up a book and the POV format resulted the snooze-fest that we paid for.
What I never cared for with the prophecy/dreams is that it's GRRM telling the reader that he knows where the story is going. To which, I reply, that's nice, you have an idea about where your own story is going. Good god! I should hope so!

I think he threw ADWD out completly to rewrite it and finish the series in one book and call it a day (fine with me too)

As to Dance being chock-full of grade A material... I wish the same, but even more than that, I wish it will be a *thick* book (as in, 350,000 words minimum).

On a related note, Jordan was able to buy himself a Porsche with the money he earned from the series. Boy, do I feel stupid for buying his books.
