femme w/ a capital "F"

i'd like to add that i identify as a queer femme. i'm still figuring out what that is, but i know i'm femme because i'm not conventionally feminine. for a long while i rebelled against anything feminine because i was sure being feminine meant being weak and victimized. now i know that's not necessarily the case; especially when you're femme. i didn ( Read more... )

Hi there--looks like we have quite a bit in common in the queer/trans community and outside of it. (My husband and I love to backpack/hike and we're also musicians of sorts).

Hmm....I remember when I first had an experience at Pride where I got stigmatized by my old lesbian friends that I bumped into and they were like, "wow good for you, you have a boyfriend!(sarcastically)"just to let you know my partner is FtM too. It's funny how you fight so hard to be seen as queer in the "straight" world and now you fight for queer visibility in the queer world Once I thought about it I realized I don't need to prove anything to anyone and I have this awesome guy that I am sticking by through his transition. Just thought I should share thanks for the add :)

thanks so much for that comment. it's good to know i'm not the only one going through this. for how long has your guy been transitioning? how'd you meet? how long've you been together?
