Hey, hey, hey, Wild Cards fans. Good news. We're only a couple of weeks away from the release of our latest all-new all-original mosaic novel: MISSISSIPPI ROLL, the twenty-fourth volume in the overall series and the first book in what we're calling the 'America Triad.' LOW CHICAGO and TEXAS HOLD'EM will be following in due course ( Read more... )

Whilst you mention that this book is a stand alone however is there a particular book you would recommend for a complete new-comer to the Wild Card universe? Naturally I am presuming the original, just wondering if there are more standalone novels or sub groupings within the main series...

And yes, I understand this question is 'google-able' but it is always cool to have the opinions of others.

If you like audio books, I can't recommend enough to start from the beginning. I'm currently listening to the first one and the narration is gorgeous.

I really second this idea. The first 7 books (which contains the first two arcs) are all out on audiobooks. I love that the early books have become period pieces 30 years later.

Oh, there's such a cool art on first cover! Could you, please, tell who is the artist?

George,

I've been reading these books from the start and plan on being a fan to the very end. :)

Seeing Sewer Jack's name is heartening, as I always appreciate the continuity in the series that stretches back to the early days.

On that note, I wanted to ask, are there any plan to follow up on the early books' intimations of an eventual Network invasion of Earth? (Tachyon still owes the Network one thanks to that contract with Jube ...)

Eventually... could be. We try to pay off all the set ups, but in the case of Wild Cards it could take decades.

Cool. Thanks for the reply!

As a reader from the start, I really appreciate the effort to continue paying things off and not let those pre-"Tor relaunch" dangling threads languish.

So, thanks to you and the consortium for that! It's extremely rewarding for us longtime fans. (I just told Vic Milan on Facebook that seeing the end of the Radical's story when I was over 30 after first discovering the character as a teenager was a phenomenal reading experience.)
