Mostly off topic... but partially on topic! (litRPG genre) ext_2561978 November 26 2017, 19:30:52 UTC
Hey George,

I'm claiming this is on topic because this post reminded me that the origin-story for starting Wild Cards was a D&D group with the other writers(if I recall correctly).

That in turn reminded me of my recent binge of litRPG books, starting with "Ready Player One" and continuing due to some automated recommendations from the interwebs... Anyway, that binge gave me some mixed feelings about the genre so I was just realizing I don't think I've seen you mention the litRPG genre before so I was curious about your thoughts of the genre since it mixes Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and often D&D rules (see, back to Wild Cards origin!).

So simply put: What do you think about the litRPG "furniture"? And are there any specific books you'd recommend? Thanks!

Ah... I didn't realize that "litRPG" was a genre. Or even a subgenre.

I enjoyed the hell out of READY PLAYER ONE, though, and I'm looking forward to the movie.

Forgive my ignorance in the question. But I assume the audiobook people can only work on one book at a time. My question is what are they going to be working on first? One Eyed Jacks or Mississippi Roll?

Also you mentioned in the past you were always mentally looking for actors to portray Tyrion, do you ever do that for the great and powerful turtle?

Yes.

No WC audiobooks are in production at the moment, but I hope we'll be back at it soon.
