Greetings from New England, Day VI and VII, or, the Homecoming

Jun 10, 2005 09:42

Monday was to be the total chill-out day, our chance to finally relax together after the wedding brou-ha-ha. Tery's mom took us out for lunch at Flander's, a "real seafood" restaurant. I bonded a little with Mike the groom over our mutual dislike of "real seafood"; he agreed with me that he preferred Friendly's' clamboat platter, "fake seafood ( Read more... )

I feel cooler and more comfortable just looking at those trees!

We've been tempted to quit AOL in the past, but it didn't seem worth the huge hassle of changing our email addresses. You don't want to try high speed AOL before you trash it completely?

That's the kicker...the first option I tried was AOL Broadband, which brought me to a Comcast (my current phone carrier) site advertising a cable modem. I wonder if the Broadband thing just went under from lack of interest.

I'm confused by all the types of high speed access. Is Broadband different from cable? Either way, I'd be surprised to hear that AOL Broadband went under.

I have no idea. All I know is I saw how well the cable modem works and I wants it. I'm not taking chances experimenting with other things and then possibly ending up with the CM anyway.

I read the words 'E-Ticket' and 'Continental' on there and now I'm more nervous.

This is the first time I'll be flyingo n my own, and I have to get a connecting flight that's all done on and E-ticket which I've never had before. I'm so worried about getting lost at the airports and/or not understanding something.

Oh, it's really easy (once you figure out the right desk!) The airports have machines like cash machines and you either insert a credit card (for ID) or you can look it up manually. Then the machine prints your boarding pass. That's all. I only use the electronic ticket since the last time I used a paper ticket I left it at my sister's accidentally and had to buy a new one at the airport : ( Expensive lesson. You'll be just fine.

Blah, I just looked at my e-ticket thing and it says in small print under Continental, for my flights between Newark and NC 'Operated by ExpressJet Airways'. Now I have no idea where I'm gonna need to go if you had trouble.

Sorry, I know you can't exactly help I'm just ancy. I'll ask people of course, but if I have to go running to get to the right terminal..

I tell people about the "trees" all the time when they ask why I left Colorado.

Because it's so green and beautiful where I live, and so brown and ugly in Colorado.

They always scoff -- Colorado ugly. Never.

Hmmmmpff.

I know what you mean. The trees are #1 what I miss most. Maybe if we could transplant all the trees to CO there'd be more oxygen here.
