Ugh I’m completely stuck on the opening of my stupid chapter. Bloody thing.

Oh I’ve written the body and the end, but the start is elusive. Fffffffffffffffaaaaaark.

How does everyone else get around mind blocks?

What needs to happen, to move characters between the end of last chapter, and the action in this one? Is there a conversation they need to have, or anything that needs to be established? If no, then perhaps you don't need a beginning.

For my part, I find a fast walk or a shower and some free-associating works wonders.

Y'know, speaking as someone who's been mashing a keyboard over ~400 words for perhaps the past two hours. Le sigh.

Hmmmmm. Maybe.

It’s because it’s a bit of my story that is linked to the canon plot so I’m between a rock and a hard place. I might DM you if that is ok?

What is it that you need to do at the beginning of this chapter?

I find that taking a shower helps me get unstuck most of the time. So does writing a really bad version of what I'm trying to write. Knowingly writing a bad version frees me up somehow, and then the ideas come more easily.

The bad version idea was genius! I was stuck on a plot point which Zig helped me out with then I just went and wrote a cruddy version. But yep, it’s there! Thank you!!

You're welcome; I'm so glad the bad-version idea helped!

I like to go for a run or a paddle... then come back and write 3-5 of the shittiest drafts I can possibly come up with. And then... I just might be able to come up with something worth saving. :)

Looks like it's all sorted, and I have no meaningful advice.
I just want to know about this 'writing the end first' business. How does that even work? Are you one of those people who *gasp* PLOT OUT STORIES?
You lot are a mystery to me... ;)

Plotting out stories is for CHUMPS!

I only know what happen coz I’m following canon for this chapter.
