Ugh I’m completely stuck on the opening of my stupid chapter. Bloody thing.

Oh I’ve written the body and the end, but the start is elusive. Fffffffffffffffaaaaaark.

How does everyone else get around mind blocks?

Though it's already sorted, my advice would be to write down what you actually want to tell in that part where you got stuck, in the way you would explain that part of the story to a friend.
I don't write fiction but when I have to write a column or some work related article and I get stuck, it always helps me to think: how would I tell this to a non-involved third party?
